Variety, the definitive entertainment industry news source, is pleased to announce the honorees for its Power of Women: New York event to be held at Cipriani Midtown on April 8, 2016. In partnership with Lifetime, Variety is thrilled to gather an intimate group of the entertainment industry’s most philanthropic women who have been selected as Variety’s “Lifetime Impact Honorees.”Through their humanitarian efforts, these women have made a significant difference to their chosen causes. Variety’s Power of Women: New York event is tied to its annual New York Women’s Impact Report, which profiles the most impactful women working in entertainment and media this year. Each of the honorees will be featured on the front cover of the New York Women’s Issue on April 5th.
The honorees include best-selling author and principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater, Misty Copeland (Project Plié), anchor of Fox News Channel’s The Kelly File, Megyn Kelly (ChildHelp), Academy Award and Emmy Award winning actress, Julianne Moore (Everytown for Gun Safety), Academy Award winning actress and star of Broadway’s Eclipsed, Lupita Nyong’o (Mother Health International), and fashion designer Vera Wang (The Youth Anxiety Center).
Star of Hulu’s Difficult People and host of truTV’s Billy on the Street, Billy Eichner will host the luncheon.
The exclusive luncheon will host four hundred invite-only guests comprised of entertainment and media insiders, who will come to celebrate, support and pay tribute to the philanthropic efforts of these incredible women. The afternoon will also include VIP pre- and post-ceremony cocktail receptions designed to engage guests with the participating charities and brand sponsors, including premiere sponsor American Airlines.
The event will be powered by Karma Automotive, who will be presenting the Karma award at the event to a soon to be announced recipient.
