StoryCorps, a non profit organization collecting oral histories about our experience, is conducting recording sessions in Harlem. It is a bit last minute notice, but I would love to share the opportunity for you or others record memories. The sessions are being archived by the Smithsonian for public access and run on NPR.
If you or other persons who know available, One-hour interviews sessions may be scheduled for Wednesday, December 26th and Friday, December 28th.
Ideally, two people are needed. One to ask the questions and the other to provide the memory/story. StoryCorp will work with us to get an interviewer, if needed.
This is perfect timing for all the celebratory events going on this year! Please encourage elders and others to take a bit of time out to past along their stories of inspiration, humor, love, loss, unique experiences, everyday occurances . . . .
