This second Annual Philosophy and Religion in Africana Traditions conference will explore the struggle for liberation of African descendant peoples as demonstrated through the instrumentalities of the philosophical and religious imaginations.
Participants will discuss visions, visionaries, and the quest for personal, social and political transformation as demonstrated in the fight for emancipation, the rise of the Black Consciousness Movement in South Africa, The Black Power movement, Rastafarianism, and the current movement around Black Lives Matter.
