A great photograph looking south towards Sugar Hill in Harlem on Broadway at 157th Street train station in Washington Heights, New York, 1911.
During the first decade of turn of the 20th century Upper Manhattan was under-developed compared to the southern portion of the island. During this time it was the moment when both horse-drawn carriages and horseless carriages shared the road on the downtown and uptown side of the rode.
