Uptown Gets Its Glow Up: Harlem Business Wins Spectrum’s Golden Ticket

Spectrum Reach, the advertising sales business of Charter Communications, Inc., today announced Cornel’s Catering Company Inc. is a 2024 “Pay It Forward” recipient.

The Harlem-based business will receive a live and streaming TV campaign worth up to $15,000 along with a custom produced 30-second commercial, marketing consultation services, educational resources and networking opportunities.

Cornel’s Catering Company caters events throughout New York City and specializes in weddings, parties, corporate and special events, with menus geared toward supporting the healthy lifestyles of their clients. Cornel’s Catering Company is a Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) certified with the City of New York and has three employees.

“We are grateful for the ‘Pay It Forward’ opportunity and look forward to spreading the word about healthy lifestyle choices,” said Chef Cornel Robinson, who founded the company in 2017. “My personal experience with a lifestyle change toward healthy eating has benefited me both physically and mentally, and I hope to share my story and passion for food with others.”

Spectrum Reach’s “Pay It Forward” initiative provides underserved small businesses access to a range of high-value services, including free advertising with access to Spectrum Reach’s award-winning, in-house creative agency Kernel and a complimentary linear and streaming TV advertising campaign; support and advice from other entrepreneurs, business owners and previous participants in the program; and resources through a members-only “Pay It Forward” website featuring educational resources, webinars, news and business insights to help them build and grow a successful brand.

Mr. Robinson was presented with the “Pay It Forward” award at a Spectrum Community Center Assist event last month in Long Island City. As part of Spectrum Community Center Assist, more than 30 Spectrum employee volunteers provided repairs and other physical improvements to nonprofit organization, Urban Upbound.
