A 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on the rooftop of a building in East Harlem, according to the NYPD.
The incident occurred on Sunday, and police have since released images of two suspects captured on surveillance footage in the vicinity of the Jefferson Houses.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward.
The release of the suspect photos is part of an ongoing effort to identify and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
The community is in shock, and local officials are emphasizing the importance of public vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement to ensure the safety of all residents.
On Monday, police released photos of the two suspects, asking anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish speakers, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
