“Let’s Get It,” performed by American rappers Harlem’s P. Diddy, G. Dep, and Black Rob, is a track that resonates deeply with the Harlem community and beyond.

Released on April 3, 2001, through Bad Boy Entertainment, the song served as the first single from P. Diddy & The Bad Boy Family’s The Saga Continues… and G. Dep’s Child of the Ghetto. Produced by Yogi “Sugar Bear” Graham with additional production by Mario “Yellow Man” Winans, “Let’s Get It” skillfully samples Al Green’s classic “Love and Happiness.”

In an August 12, 2022 interview on The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent revealed that he ghostwrote the chorus and P. Diddy’s verses on the track, adding another layer of intrigue to the song’s history.

“Let’s Get It” made a significant impact on the charts, reaching number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 74 on Radio Songs, number 18 on both Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, number 26 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, number 5 on Hot Rap Songs, number 10 on Rap Airplay, and number 21 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales in the United States.

Adding to its legacy, a remix featuring Mark Curry, Kain, and Loon was released as a hidden track on G. Dep’s Child of the Ghetto.

The music video, directed by the acclaimed Director X, visually captured the energy and essence of the track.

“Let’s Get It” remains a testament to the vibrant and dynamic spirit of Harlem, reflecting the neighborhood’s rich culture and its influence on the hip-hop flavor.
