The Five-Borough Chamber Alliance has released the following statement from Lisa Sorin, President of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce.
This includes Randy Peers, President and CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce; Jessica Walker, President and CEO of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce; Tom Grech, President and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce; and Linda Baran, President and CEO of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce in response to news that New York City has hit an all-time high in total jobs, regaining jobs lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
“As the leaders of New York City’s five borough-wide chambers of commerce, we are delighted by today’s news that the city has hit an all-time high in total jobs, regaining jobs lost during the pandemic. This progress is a testament to the resiliency of our business community, and to the leadership of Mayor Adams and his administration who have invested in programs that have helped small businesses – which account for 94 percent of private firms in the city – drive our city’s economic recovery.”
“Since being launched by the five borough-wide chambers of commerce in October 2020, the Small Business Resource Network (SBRN) has reached over 40,000 small businesses and helped many new businesses to launch. By providing them with free personalized guidance and support, our team has helped these small businesses grow and thrive. The numbers released today show that these businesses are driving the job growth in the city.”
“We thank Mayor Adams and his team for their steadfast commitment to helping entrepreneurs and our small business community, and join them in celebrating today’s wonderful news.”
