Las Vegas: NBA Icons Celebrate Philanthropy At NBPA Foundation Golf Invite

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Foundation launched the inaugural NBPA Foundation Las Vegas Golf Invitational at the iconic Las Vegas Country Club.

Current and former NBPA members, including Matt Barnes, Devon Dotson, Marc Eversley, Langston Galloway, Kevin Garnett, Alonzo Mourning, Paul Pierce, Jalen Rose, Reggie Theus, Garrett Temple, Dylan Windler, Mike Woodson, together with Tamika Tremaglio, the Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association, and Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the Executive Director of the NBPA Foundation welcomed participants onto the course for a day of celebration and philanthropy. 

“Our NBPA Foundation Golf Invitational is the next step in amplifying our players’ efforts, and expediting and augmenting their positive influence. We look forward to building strong relationships with new and existing partners, and further supporting and championing the philanthropic achievements and activities of all of our members,” NBPA Foundation Executive Director Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said at the opening remarks ceremony.

The proceeds from the NBPA Foundation Golf Invitational will support the Foundation’s Matching Player Grants program. Through the initiative, current and former players partner with the NBPA Foundation to receive a matching grant designed to amplify their charitable giving and philanthropic efforts in their communities. To date, the NBPA Foundation has partnered with more than 500 current and former players and distributed more than $17 million in grants to hundreds of organizations and initiatives across more than 30 countries.

The event took place as the NBA Summer League continues in Las Vegas. NBPA Foundation not only provides strategic financial assistance but also amplifies the efforts of its players on a global platform, to expedite and augment their positive influence.
