East Harlem residents are still having trouble breathing nearly two weeks after a gas leak leveled two buildings.
Several people told the New York Daily News they are unable to sleep at night because of the cough they’ve developed.
The city has logged nine complaints about air quality including two requests for inspection following the incident.
East Harlem has one of the highest asthma rates in the city with 11.4 per 1,000 children.
The Department of Environmental Protection has been testing for asbestos since the collapse but has not found any.
