Carl Anthony Payne Set For The Special ‘Martin’ Reunion As BET Reveals Summer Plans

Harlem fave Carl Anthony Payne II is promoting the upcoming Martin Reunion on BET +.

‘Martin’ Reunion Gets June 2022, Premiere Date as BET+ Reveals Summer Plans.

Carl joins the original cast of Martin for the highly anticipated 30th reunion special on BET + airing on June 16th, 2022.

The special will be hosted by comedian/actor Affionn Crockett, with appearances from Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Carl Anthony Payne II, as well as unnamed special guests.

“Martin is one of the most beloved sitcoms in our community, both because it is hugely entertaining and because it played a pivotal role in changing the narrative of Black voices in entertainment and in culture through the portrayal of young, ambitious Black leads and healthy Black relationships,” said Scott Mills, CEO of BET. “Decades later, that representation is still just as important, which is why we’re so excited to honor a series that put Black culture front and center on our platform that embraces Black culture everyday.”

Carl currently stars as Myles Wilson on Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan on Nickelodeon. He is best known for his role as “Cockroach” Bradley on the long-running NBC sitcom The Cosby Show and Curtis on the sitcom George Lopez.

Some of his other credits include; Rock Me Baby, Ed, The Messenger, and The Breaks.


Carl is a successful television and film director and directed the upcoming comedy Strange Love.

He also tours with his comedy show throughout the US.

Carl attended La Guardia High School of Music & Performing Arts (on which FAME was based) alongside famous alum Jennifer Anniston.

He also graduated from Howard University.
