Call On Religious Leaders To Help Stop The Spread Of Omicron Variant With On-Site Rapid Testing

Reliant Health Services, a team of pandemic experts dedicated to limiting the spread of COVID-19 through advanced testing solutions.

Has called on religious and faith-based leaders across the United States to help stop the spread of the Omicron variant, especially among the African-American and Latinx population, through free, on-site rapid testing.

Faith-based organizations and religious institutions have been on the frontline mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 and providing communities with much-needed guidance and support, but Reliant Health Services believes that these pillars of our communities could intensify their efforts against the spread of the Omicron variant by providing free, on-site rapid testing solutions to their members.

“In times of instability, hardship, and uncertainty, individuals turn to religious leaders, whom they often trust more than media, government, and business officials for direction and information. These organizations and their leaders are in a unique and immensely powerful position to significantly curb the spread of the Omicron variant with free, on-site rapid testing,” explains Monica Beeman, Senior Vice President of Special Operations at Reliant Health Services. “Faith leaders and their organizations can and should serve as crucial allies in the fight against the pandemic, and it is our hope to make religious and faith-based organizational testing a consistent practice across the country.”

“Systemic health and social inequities have put racial and ethnic minority groups at an increased risk from COVID-19 and its variants,” said Michael Daignault, M.D., Chief Medical Advisor at Reliant Health Services. “For this reason, widespread, on-site rapid testing at community centers will create a considerable force in the fight against the spread of the pandemic.”

“Rapid testing is particularly well suited for free community testing programs, which are paid for by the CARES Act,” explains Daignault. “Rapid testing allows for less dependence on local lab capacity which is subject to potential bottlenecks if there’s a community surge, provides real-time results and ensures organizations aren’t admitting ill members into their centers.”

“With various new Covid-19 strains surfacing constantly, it is vital that we make free community testing a priority in black and brown communities, which have been hit the hardest throughout the pandemic,” said McCarthy. “This is why we partnered with Reliant Health Services. We know that they can deliver every aspect of the testing process in the most efficient and productive way possible.”
