Building Economic Development And Affordable Housing For Our Local Residents

October 2, 2020

Uptown Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez stated, “Two years ago, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of the Radio Tower & Hotel.

The first mixed-use project of the last 50 years, bringing new jobs, a hotel, and retail and office spaces to our community. Today, we celebrated how far we’ve come and how close we are to delivering all these resources to our community.

I will continue working alongside Northern Manhattan elected officials to create opportunities in which small businesses can have affordable spaces to do business and thrive in this economy.

Apart from this $280 million dollar project, I am committed to continue bringing economic development and build truly affordable housing for our local working-class residents.

I continue to be proud to have brought hundreds of millions of dollars in investments to our local parks, schools, and infrastructure in District 10. These investments will create pathways for many people in our community to have access to good-paying jobs and a better quality of life.

We must continue working alongside our private and public institutions to provide more opportunities for our Northern Manhattan community.”
