Construction has topped out on Victory Plaza, a new mixed-income affordable housing block at 11 West 118th Street in Harlem. Designed by Aufgang Architects for developers Camber Property Group and Harlem Congregations, the nine-story building will eventually contain 136 rental units including a total of 41 apartments reserved for formerly homeless seniors.
The $65 million project is being financed by New York City’s Housing Development Corporation, Housing Preservation and Development, and Wells Fargo. Full completion is expected by December 2020 reports New York Yimby.
“We are committed to delivering high quality affordable housing to meet the rising demand across New York City—and Victory Plaza will do just that by providing much-needed housing for formerly homeless and low-income seniors,” said Rick Gropper, co-founder and principal of Camber Property Group. “We look forward to completing work on this vital project and welcoming in new tenants.”
Additional components include indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, on-site social services, and a public garden.
