Harlem business owner, Atim Annette Oton announced today in her Calabar Gallery newsletter that she is an advisor for The David Prize, The Prize is a celebration of individuals and ideas to create a better, brighter New York City. The Prize is open to any individual working in the five boroughs of New York City, the Prize welcomes those with the grit and vision to change our communities, our culture and our future for good. From retired teachers re-imagining after school mentorship to a community garden mogul, an entrepreneur serving the homeless to immigrant fighting for fairer neighborhoods, their winners are risk-takers and make you think, “only in New York.”
The Prize goal is to fund those projects that others do not and isn’t bound by sectors, disciplines, or impact metrics. The Prize awards 5 individuals with $200,000, no strings attached.
