November 2, 2018

On October 31, 2018, representatives from the Columbia University College of Dental medicine participated by running and jumping alongside over 300 students on The Armory’s New Balance Track & Field famed oval in Washington Heights. Columbia representatives also spoke to the children about the importance of caring for their teeth, especially after a Trick or Treating night of eating candy. The kids received a CityTrack/Little Feet/Tiny Feet shirt, a candy corn bag filled with treats and a new toothbrush.

Throughout the school year the three youth programs participate twice a week in track & field activities at The Armory. Students represent more than 20 schools in Washington Heights, Harlem and Inwood communities. CityTrack consists of middle school students, Little Feet includes third through fifth graders and this year’s newest program is Tiny Feet that welcomes second graders to The Armory’s New Balance Track & Field Center. A team of 35 professionals work alongside The Armory’s youth programs to help oversee unique opportunities to make sure every child enjoys a meaningful experience. This is The Armory’s way to help “keep kids on track”.
