Morningside Park Farmers Market Starts 2018 Summer Season

April 19, 2018

On Saturday, May 5th, 2018, the Morningside Park Farmers Market in Harlem (Manhattan) will start its 14th summer season. The market is held year-round at the park entrance at the corner of 110th Street and Manhattan Avenue every Saturday from 9am to 3pm. Created in 2005 with the support of the Friends of Morningside Park, the farmers market will continue to highlight New York area growers and artisan food makers, with the mission of bringing wholesome and delicious foods to the neighborhood’s shoppers and supporting local small farms and food businesses.

The Morningside Park Farmers Market is a grower-producer market, meaning that vendors must be farmers or make food with ingredients purchased from local farms. The few exceptions to this rule are olive oil, chocolate and coffee vendors who are able to document their sourcing. This season, shoppers can look forward to a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and meats from area farms, including organically grown produce from Echo Creek Farm in Salem, NY. Market favorites American Pride Seafood, PickleLicious and Kimchi Kooks (NYC-made kimchi and Korean street food) will all be back along with many others. New vendors this year include Dacha Live Cultured Veggies, Pilot Kombucha and Cano Coffee Company. The full schedule of shopper favorites and new vendors attending this year is available at www.downtoearthmarkets.com.

EBT and WIC Checks are welcome and Health Bucks are now available year-round.
