Patch reports that a man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday morning in East Harlem, police and fire officials said.
The man was hit in the intersection of East 97th Street and First Avenue around 8:30 a.m., an NYPD spokeswoman said. The driver fled the scene after the collision and has not been arrested, the spokeswoman said.
The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital, an FNDY spokesman said. The man is expected to survive, the spokesman said.
