On Friday, March 23rd, 2018, Spectrum Designs, the largest employer of individuals with autism in New York State, marked a major milestone, moving into a new building and celebrated the occasion with a ribbon-cutting. It is a perfect time to post these photos, as April is World Autism Awareness Month.
1 in 68 children are diagnosed with autism in the United States and there will be over 500,000 individuals on the autism spectrum aging into adulthood over the next decade. Job options are limited, and these individuals offers suffer dramatic regression and face a dearth of employment opportunities. Spectrum Designs believes in the capabilities of people with autism and the special skillset they bring to the workforce.
