8 Useful Tricks For Your Smartphone

June 20, 2022

If you’re like most people, your smartphone is probably one of your most-used pieces of technology.

It’s always with you, so it’s no wonder that we rely on them for everything from keeping us entertained to helping us stay connected and organized. But did you know that there are a few smartphone tricks that can make your life even easier? Check out these eight helpful tips for your smartphone.

1. Reverse phone lookup

Did you know that you can use your phone to do a reverse phone lookup? This comes in handy if you get a call from an unknown number and want to find out who it is. Just enter the number into a search engine like Google or Bing, and you should be able to find out who the caller is. Additionally, Reverse Phone Lookup services can give you even more information about the caller, like their location or whether the number is a landline or cell phone. It’s a quick and easy way to find out more about unknown numbers. This can be a great way to screen calls and avoid unwanted telemarketers or scammers.

2. Turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot

If you find yourself in a situation where there is no WiFi available but you need to get online, you can turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot. This allows you to connect your other devices to the internet using your phone’s data plan. To do this, just go into your phone’s settings and look for the “tethering” or “hotspot” option. Once you turn it on, you’ll be able to connect your laptop or tablet to the internet by connecting to your phone’s hotspot.

Keep in mind that this will use up your data more quickly, so it’s best to only use this option when you really need it. Also, be sure to turn off the hotspot when you’re finished so that you don’t accidentally use up all your data for the month!

3. Use a digital assistant

If you’re not already using a digital assistant like Siri or Google Assistant, now is the time to start! These helpful tools can do everything from setting alarms and timers to sending texts and emails. You can even ask them questions, and they’ll give you answers using information from the internet. If you’re not sure how to get started with your digital assistant, just open up the app and start exploring. You’ll be surprised at how much these handy assistants can do.

Additionally, many digital assistants can be used hands-free, so you can use them while you’re driving or doing other tasks.

4. Save money with apps

There are a ton of great money-saving apps out there that can help you save on everything from groceries to gas. One of our favorites is Ibotta, which gives you cash back for buying certain items at the grocery store. All you have to do is check the app before you go shopping and add offers for the items you plan to buy. Then, after you’ve made your purchase, just take a photo of your receipt and submit it through the app.

The money will be deposited into your Ibotta account, and you can cash out once you’ve reached a certain amount. There are also apps like GasBuddy that help you find the cheapest gas prices in your area, so you can save money every time you fill up your tank.

5. Take better photos

If you’re not a professional photographer, there’s no need to worry. You can still take great photos with your smartphone using a few simple tips. First, try to avoid using the flash whenever possible. The flash can often wash out photos and make them look less natural. If you’re in a low-light situation, try turning on your phone’s HDR setting. This will help to improve the quality of your photos. Additionally, be sure to keep your lens clean and free of fingerprints. Smudges on the lens can cause blurred or fuzzy photos. And finally, don’t be afraid to experiment with different camera apps.

6. Extend your battery life

If you’re always running low on battery, there are a few things you can do to help extend your phone’s battery life. First, try turning off any unnecessary features or apps that you’re not using. For example, if you don’t need to be connected to WiFi all the time, turn off the WiFi setting on your phone. You can also change your screen’s brightness to a lower setting; this will help to conserve battery power.

Additionally, many phones have a “power saving” mode that can be activated when your battery is low. This mode will disable certain features and apps in order to save power.

7. Track your fitness

If you’re trying to get in shape, there are a number of great apps that can help you track your progress and meet your fitness goals. One of our favorites is Fitbit, which helps you track your steps, distance, calories burned, and active minutes. It also allows you to set goals and see your progress over time. There are also apps like MyFitnessPal that can help you track your diet and exercise routine. This can be helpful if you’re trying to lose weight or eat healthier. It’s also a great way to make sure you’re getting all the nutrients you need.

8. Be more productive

If you’re looking for ways to be more productive, there are a number of great apps that can help. One of our favorites is Evernote, which allows you to create notes, lists, and reminders. It also has a handy “scan” feature that can be used to scan documents and save them as PDFs. Additionally, the app has a built-in to-do list function that can help you keep track of your tasks. There’s also a calendar feature that can be used to schedule appointments and events. If you’re looking for an all-in-one productivity app, Evernote is definitely worth checking out.

These are just a few of the many great smartphone tricks that can make your life easier. So don’t be afraid to experiment and find the ones that work best for you. Your smartphone is a powerful tool, and there’s no need to be afraid of using it to its full potential. It’s time to start enjoying all the benefits that your smartphone has to offer.
