With regular unleaded gas priced on average this week at $3.92 per gallon, imagine paying $61 per tank of gas and driving 573 miles before reaching empty while flossing big time in the process. That’s $1,600 annually, if you drive an average of 15,000 miles, which breaks down to a vehicle with a fuel economy rating of 35 miles per gallon in the city and 40 on the highway. Imagine such a car being a midsize sedan chock full of luxe-like features with that kind of gas mileage that scores decimals away from “BEST” on the EPA’s greenhouse gas emmissions rating and a perfect 10 for a Global Warming Score. In other words, there’ll be plenty of space and comfort in the car for you and yours. Well, priced from $25,850, Hyundai’s Sonata Hybrid is that car!

As you can see, the award winning, sixth generation Hyundai Sonata is a definite head turner. “Fluid,” runs from front to rear and side to side. You name it and with the additional $5,500 “Ultimate” Package, it has it: Navigation with touch screen features, rear camera, panoramic sunroof, illuminated door sills, XM satellite radio with traffic and weather that coincides with the navigation features/destination, 17-inch rims and more.

But here’s what blew me away: Although the 4 cylinder, 2.4 liter engine boasts a total of 204 horsepower (166 from the gas engine and 40 from the electric engine), Sonata’s get up and go is awesome!

So we’re talking beauty, brawn, five star safety ratings in four out of five categories (four stars in the fifth category, which is for the front passenger in the frontal crash category) and America’s best warranty that includes a 5-years/60,000 miles new car warranty, 10/10K on the powertrain, 10/10K on hybrid system components, 7 years/unlimited miles of antiperforation and 5 years of roadside assistance–ALL STANDARD!

If you test drive this car, I swear, you’ll probably get hooked!
